Dixie Texas Regional, State and World Series Tournaments

Think back to the famous question every child is asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” For those that grow up with an interest in baseball, there are many that respond, “I want to be a professional baseball player!” We had the privilege of capturing memories that some of the young athletes in attendance can look back and use to tell their story. “This tournament was a step taken along my dream path.”

      Dixie Regional & State Tournaments

This year’s Dixie AA LARGE and AA JUNIOR State (Machine Pitch) Tournaments, and Dixie BOYS Division Tournament were held in Center, TX over July 5-9, 2014. For those that like numbers, during these tournaments, 47 games were photographed including:

  • -Over 7,000 memories for AA LARGE
  • -Almost 6,000 for AA JUNIOR
  • -2,500 for BOYS Division

This tournament held a special remembrance with the flag at left at half-mast during the duration of the tournament for one young Broken Bow All-Star athlete. The Broken Bow All-Stars of Oklahoma renamed themselves “Team Rowdy” in his honor after he lost his life in a car accident.

The following weekend, Center, Texas was again the host for the Dixie AAA LARGE and AAA JUNIOR Regional Tournaments, and Dixie MAJORS State Tournament as well over July 12-15, 2014. From the 42 games captured at this event, the gallery counts produced:

  • -Over 5,000 memories for AAA LARGE Division as well as for the AAA JUNIOR Division
  • -Over 4,600 for Dixie MAJORS Division

That’s over 30,000 images in the novel of this year’s State Tournaments at Center, TX. And those aren’t “spray and pray” shots! We take our photographs with precise aim to tell our athlete’s story. It’s fun to hear those that come by looking through the photos on our proofing laptops, referring to it as “watching” the game play out live one click at a time. These tournaments brought the heat of both high temperatures and action! The most memorable action that comes to mind would have to be the 5 over the fence home runs in a row by Dixie Majors Athens All-Stars and on their 2 out rally! Those expressions were priceless to capture……true smiles of pride and accomplishment. I’m proud to say that our orders were processed within 7-days after the completion of each tournament – unless of course you chose an item we produced onsite and were able to take it home with you. Our aim is to give the best customer service and quality products we can and never get comfortable with “just good enough”. We want to make it clear why we stand out above the competition.

We had the special opportunity to end our 2014 Dixie tournament season with the first ever Dixie AA Machine Pitch/Coach Pitch Division World Series Tournament that took place in Texarkana, Arkansas July 17-21, 2014 hosted by Texarkana Arkansas Baseball Association. We were there to capture the start of the excitement at the Opening Ceremonies on July 17 that took place at the beautiful Trinity Baptist Church of Texarkana. The next morning the teams were due to arrive at Ed Worrell Park……but the rain made it in first! Volunteers and staff came together to get the fields in play condition as quickly as possible. Even though the morning games had to be rescheduled, those there early enough had the unique opportunity to see two helicopters come in to help “blow off” a good portion of standing water from the fields to assist them in drying out in enough time to start the afternoon games as scheduled. By 3pm it was time to “Play Ball” and the tournament was officially on! There were back to back games from then on out as scheduled and the drive of the athlete’s became more apparent as team banners came off the fence lines. There were 32 Machine Pitch and 34 Coach Pitch games shot with almost 20,000 photos captured to help mark this special achievement that many won’t have the opportunity to experience again.

A Special Congratulations to Team TEXAS (Nacogdoches, TX) for taking home the inaugural coach pitch crown & to Team Florida (Sebring, FL) for taking home the inaugural machine pitch championship!
